A Different Water Heating Solution Air Source Heat pump combined with water tank

A new product that has just been launched that might prove to more efficient than a solar thermal system and at around half the installation costs. It will also work all year round. The AE all in one combines a small air source heat pump with a highly efficient water tank which can supply mains pressure water for your sanitary needs. The unit is very efficient with a COP of 3.3 and is situated in the house. Tests have proved that the cost of running this producing 300 litres of hot water every day is only £143 p.a, so if you only use 150 litres this will be approximately half that, namely £72 per year. According to the Energy Savings Trust the average gas bill is £1200 and water heating accounts for 30% of this (£400) so the savings combined with the RHI make this a really good investment.

This product will also qualify for the RHI payments when they are introduced and may qualify for the £850 installation grant as well if you are currently off grid.
